EDMI Home

Energy Consumption Tracking App

About

This project was carried out during my placement year at EDMI Europe. The brief was to improve their mobile touch point. EDMI Home uses data from smart meters and sensors to help users reduce their bills through better insights, budgeting and heating control.

Stats

50 million UK households are expected to be fitted with smart meters by the end of 2020. All of which will have in-home display. Households on average saves only around £32 a year from having an in-home display. Smart meters will cost each household around £420. 60% of the in-home displays deployed are not in used within a year. Consumers either find them useless, annoying or in the way.
